Northern Michigan surely is experiencing a cold fall. Typically fall temps hover around 60 degrees, but these past few days are so cold. Early morning temps are barely 30 degrees with heavy frost. Today is the best day, with highs in the 50 's and sunshine. I miss sunshine! After today the next few days are supposed to bring us more cold rain.  Oh well! It is what it is and it's for the very best.  All comes from Hashem!
This week's Torah portion starts the beginning of Torah with Bereishis. What I found interesting is on day 2 of creation, nothing really is created. There is a separation taking place between the waters. I listened to a podcast explaining that a little bit. There really isn't any earth as yet. The upper waters are separated by the lower waters, which may indicate that the lower waters are muddy. On day 3 of creation the lower waters are separated for the seas and land is brought out...a separation of water and land. If you mix dirt and water together you get muddy water. If you let it settle, the dirt sinks to the bottom. What Hashem did is beyond the normal. He separated out the dirt to form land causing the water to be supported by the earth...(in a way). Otherwise the dirt would have sunk to the bottom allowing the earth to be covered only in water. I found that interesting.
