If anyone bothered reading Jeremiah, Chapter 10, the first few verses, they might become enlightened. How? First of all, God warns the people to not become like the pagans where they chop down a tree in the forest, bring it inside and hold it in place, then decorate it with silver and gold. What does that remind a person of? The christmas tree, of course! Don't become like the pagans! That isn't something that is taught in sunday school and christians don't have a clue on what God is actually talking about. Just because they want to put a jesus stamp on everything doesn't make it right. 
The lights of Hanukkah are awesome! It reminds a person of the miracles that God performs all the time. Those miracles are with us every day. The final redemption will come, but it will come from God alone. Not a replacement for who God really is. Get back to the basics people! Study Torah and stop following a false god.
