We have been working the Hurricane Sandy disaster in Brooklyn, New York. I haven't seen so much damage during a disaster as this particular one. People have been telling me stories of how they had to grab their children and run for their lives while water quickly filled their lower level apartments and homes. One man in particular showed us pictures he took on his cell phone. The beach area in front of his house was a normal beach. Then, as the hurricane approached he watched the water recede by almost a mile to a 30 foot drop off point. He continued to take pictures as the water began to rush back in and he retreated to higher ground as a 30-40 foot wall of water came rushing into land and caused so much flooding in thousands of homes. It was an amazing thing!
