We finished our work on Long Island, New York. We were amazed at the amount of damages we viewed as we worked in the area. We were also amazed at the amount of traffic on Long Island, not to mention Manhattan and other places nearby. We live in a small community in northern Michigan of about 5,000 people. We don't have heavy traffic and we can travel quickly from point A to point B. In New York a person has to plan for the time spent in traffic to get to their destination. I don't know how they do it and enjoy living there. Maybe I'm just so used to the freedom of movement that I find it hard to adjust my thinking to that of a New Yorker. I think true living is found in smaller country settings and not in the hustle and bustle of large metropolitan areas.
We decided to terminate our work on Long Island largely in part to the heavy traffic, but also because most of the work was drying up and the greed inspections were beginning. We thank Hashem for His great providence in our lives and for safe travels. Never once did we have an accident and our arrival back to northern Michigan was great.
Before we left Long Island, we did spend a day looking around Manhattan and viewing the sights. I figured out why Central Park is a park. We saw a lot of bedrock there....almost as if there was a mountain of some type. I don't think I would ever want to see New York again. It was not fun fighting traffic on a daily basis. Give me northern Michigan or Israel!
Prove It!
