Praise Hashem for another day! No matter what the day may bring, it is always best to bless Hashem for He is in control. Hashem means 'The Name' in Hebrew. It helps prevent a person from taking God's name in vain. Here in our Western culture, and through out the world, there are many gods. By using Hashem to pray to, we are defining God as separate from the other gods. He alone knows what is best for us each and every day. When the seemingly 'bad' stuff happens, it really is for the best, even though we may not be able to understand it at the time.
Having studied Hebrew for a time, (and I'm not at all proficient in the language), I did learn that there can be several meanings to all verses in the Torah. The Hebrew letters have no vowels. There are 22 letters and the letters also stand for numbers. By taking time to study the language a person will discover that our English translations of Torah are limited. I thought I had learned so much and knew what I was reading until I learned about the Hebrew language and the gamatria applied to letters brings additional understanding. It really is amazing!
